NIGHT VFR RATING
What is NVFR?
Night VFR (NVFR) is an additional flight permit to fly at night (at airports which are equipped for it) under the VFR (Visual Flight Rules) conditions. It can be acquired by pilots who have a LAPL or PPL.
Entry requirements
Valid PPL (A) or LAPL (A) license
Valid medical certificate to the corresponding license
(List of certified doctors)
Theoretical part
Theoretical part contains 6 hours of lectures from:
Airports at night
Psychological phenomena at night
Navigation at night
Before beginning the practical training candidate must undergo an internal test of knowledge from the theory.
Practical part
Candidate must fly a total of at least 5 hours, which must include:
3 hours of flight with an instructor
5 solo take-offs and landing with a full stop (at least 1 solo hour)
1 flight with a flight instructor long at least 50 km and 1 hour of flight time or more
Training for NVFR is completed after the successful completion of the program and does not require an examination flight.
Rating validity
NVFR rating does not have a validity limit. But if, in the past 90 days, the pilot has not completed at least 3 take-offs and 3 landings as pilot in command of an airplane of the same class or type, he must not operate an airplane under visual flight conditions at night and must, before further flight, verify his qualification.
