LIGHT AIRCRAFT PILOT LICENSE
About the license
Do you want to fly for your own needs and enjoyment within Europe? Do you want to fly single-engine airplanes that do not exceed 2000 kg of Take-Off Weight MTOW and can transport up to 3 passengers? Then LAPL (A) (Light Aircraft Pilot License / Airplane) is your right choice.
Entry requirements
Age of at least 16 years prior to the first solo flight
Age of at least 17 years for an exam flight
LAPL or 2nd class medical certificate

Theoretical part
The theoretical part contains 100 hours of lectures from:
Air law
Human performance and limitations
Meteorology
Radio-telephony
Principles of flight
Operational procedures
Flight performance and planning
Airplane general knowledge
Navigation
Before beginning the practical training candidate must undergo an internal test of knowledge from the theory.
Practical part
Candidate must fly a total of at least 30 hours, which must include:
15 hours of flight with an instructor
6 hours of solo flight
1 solo flight longer than 80 NM (150 km) with full stop on at least one other airport
Exam
Exam includes:
Theoretical part at the Civil Aviation Agency (CAA)
(The theory has a deadline of 2 years for passing a practical examination)
LAPL (A) theory is identical to the PPL (A) theory.

License validity
LAPL (A) license is valid all the time, provided that you maintain a license yourself (in the last two years, at least 12 hours of flight), have a valid medical certificate and an identity document.
